Together with our partners.donors,volunteers, and stakeholders, We delivered 24 of our AquaTower water filtration solutions and lifesaving water-health and hygiene education programs on World Water Day. Project 24 demonstrates how corporate and private citizens can join together to change, or even save, lives by increasing awareness of the global water crisis and mobilizing to create action towards this issue.
Clean water access is transformational. By improving health and decreasing the amount of time needed to collect water, children are now able to spend more time in school, increasing opportunities and improving overall community wellbeing.
Our Water-Health and Hygiene Education program begins with training the teachers from each participating school who then carry out the implementation of the program across their classrooms and school to increase knowledge and influence behavior change.
Employee Volunteering helps build teamwork, enhance employee engagement, and increase retention while making an impact in the community. We were fortunate to have the support of so many hardworking volunteer teams on World Water Day.
Volunteers joined us across each stage of the deployment, helping to assemble the AquaTower structure, putting together the system accessories, and supporting the implementation of our Water-Health and Hygiene Education Program.
Planet Water projects provide clean water access to 1,000 people per day and we have documented 80% reductions in diarrheal episodes among communities participating in our program.
Through extensive communications via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram we were able to increase awareness about global water poverty and engage diverse communities around the impact we made together with our partners.
Xylem Watermark, a leading water technology company, joined us again on Project 24 this year as our lead partner, supporting 6 projects. In addition, Planet Water works with Xylem to deploy projects on an ongoing basis across various geographies throughout the year.
The Cambodia Beverage Company (Coca-Cola) joined us for their second year on Project 24 by supporting a project in Cambodia. We will continue expanding our collaboration throughout this year with additional projects planned in various regions of the country.
Starbucks joined us for their second time on Project 24 on a project in the Greater Jakarta area of Indonesia. A team of their employee volunteers joined us on this deployment and we look forward to our continued partnership supported by their bottled water sales.
Kicking off our collaboration, we deployed two projects with Expedia Inc. for Project 24, including one in Cambodia and one in Indonesia. Later this year, we will deploy two more projects with Expedia Inc. along with employees from their Singapore office as volunteers.
American Eagle Outfitters has now been a part of Project 24 for 2 years, first supporting a project in Indonesia and then a project in India this year.
Watts Water Technologies and Planet Water started their collaboration on World Water Day last year and have since deployed multiple projects together across various geographies, including one in the Philippines for Project 24 this year.
Medical Solutions is a long-time partner of Planet Water and has been part of Project 24 from the start, with their project this year being deployed in Indonesia.
RayBizTech has been providing technology solutions and website services in support of Planet Water Foundation and Project 24 for two years.
Kentico and RayBizTech have partnered in 2017 to provide scalable and efficient Content Management solutions that will result in a new Planet Water Foundation website in 2017.
Planet Water Foundation is also supported through the generosity of families and individual donors who bring health and hope to children living in water challenged communities.
Valmont Industries joined Planet Water on Project 24 this year with their support of a project in India including participation from their local team as volunteers.
